I spent a 4-week sabbatical from Arm with co-director, Mary Nguyen, helping researchers in Ecuador accelerate their camera trap analysis with AI. Our main collaborator is Dr. Becky Zug, director of the Carnivore Lab at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ).
We started with with simple to use application, EcoAssist, which can be used on almost any platform to run classifiers on photo and video data. We are working toward a Biodiversity Server which can analyze and manage all the USFQ camera trap projects across Ecuador, thanks to an amazing donation by Ampere Computing!
